GENERAL SUMMARY




CCD's nursing programs are designed to create competent, ethical and confident health care practitioners in an innovative, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, curriculum oversight, 四虎影视 (didactic, simulation, laboratory and clinical), student mentoring, student remediation, curriculum development, maintaining accurate records that are in compliance with all State Board of Nursing and ACEN requirements, and attending faculty meetings and participation in committees that support the mission of the college and the nursing program. 




All faculty may be required to teach in days, evening, and weekends as needed. Instruction is offered in-person and in online format. 




The position reports to the Director of Nursing Education Program.




Duties and Responsibilities



Primary Duties
  • Teach a full course load in Nursing which may include theory, laboratory, simulation and clinical settings and different delivery methods. 
  • Assume instructional leadership roles as needed. Instructional leadership roles may include mentoring part-time instructors, developing curriculum, working with industry and community groups, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, and assisting with the accreditation process. 
  • Work with the program administrator and instructors to ensure ongoing compliance with governing organization requirements and nursing accreditation.
  • Utilize technology and effective 四虎影视 strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills.
  • Actively participate in systematic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation and program revision.
  • Work with the Director of Nursing Education Program (DNEP) to develop student success plans and remediate "at risk" students.
  • Commit to creating a learning environment for students inclusive of diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Keeps professionally current by participating in professional development and other activities.
  • Maintains current credentials or licensures and immunizations as required by the program and clinical agencies.
  • Perform administrative duties related to course management, compliance documentation, and course evaluation
  • Provide student advisement to pre-nursing and admitted nursing students to ensure successful preparation for entry and completion of nursing programs
  • Developing, evaluating and revising student admission, progression, retention and graduation policies within the policies of the Governing Body
  • Participating in academic advising and guidance of students.
  • Evaluating student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes related to nursing knowledge and practice
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the dean and/or the DNEP.
Qualifications





Education: (Minimum/Required) 

A doctorate degree in nursing or nursing education from a regionally accredited college or university




Experience: (Minimum/Required)
  • Minimum of 4000 hours of clinical nursing experience.
  • Clinical expertise in one or more practice areas including adult health, community health,
psychiatric/mental health, maternal newborn or pediatric nursing, and/or skills and simulation labs.
  • Possess an active, unencumbered Colorado RN license.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (Minimum/Required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range 
of constituencies in diverse environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.  
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver curriculum in a dynamic environment that engages students.
  • Adaptability and organizational skills that will allow supervision of students in laboratory and
clinical settings providing appropriate and constructive feedback.
  • Technology knowledge and skills that will allow development and integration of current
technological educational methodologies in and out of the classroom.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and manage a diverse student group.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Two years of 四虎影视 experience in nursing education
  • Demonstrated experience 四虎影视 within a community college
  • Experience in 四虎影视 nursing skills lab including simulation experience
  • Online 四虎影视 experience 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (preferred)
  • Knowledge of online education platform such as Desire2Learn. 
  • Knowledge of the ATI platform.
Licensure/Certification:  Unencumbered Colorado RN License
