Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) provides programs that wire students with in-demand technical and professional skills, including electronics, computing, communications, power, sensing, and controls. We offer ABET-accredited Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, along with a Master's in ECE and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Engineering. Our students are well-grounded with hands-on experience in modern engineering labs integrated with faculty-taught lectures. We help students spark their careers via internships in the technology industry and research with our expert faculty, and amplify students' technical and non-technical skills via leadership in professional societies and collaboration in engineering competition teams.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Innovative Materials in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a preferred start date of April 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia. This position would also serve as the Director of Clean Room Operations, which requires work the entire year (including summer semester).

Responsibilities
  • Develop, launch, and maintain Kennesaw State University's cleanroom facility (year round). This may include:
    • Oversee acquisition, installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of clean room equipment, including space planning and vendor partnerships
    • Oversee facility and infrastructure needs and changes, including power, water, and gases
    • Oversee scheduling and access management to ensure appropriate use of the facility
    • Coordinate cleanroom activities and provide support for research and instructional activities utilizing the cleanroom
    • Serve as primary liaison with Environmental Health and Safety and other regulatory bodies
    • Provide documentation including safety audits and operational metrics
    • Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement and disposal of supplies and consumables
    • Develop materials and device fabrication process
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, with an emphasis on materials and device physics, growth, fabrication, and characterization
  • Participate in research and 四虎影视 using the cleanroom equipment
  • Some additional service to Department, College, University and/or professional community may be expected
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • Exceptional work experience in clean room operation (5+ years) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with setup, operation, and maintenance of materials growth and lithography tools in a clean room environment, or related equipment.
  • Experience in preparing or supporting proposals to external funding agencies and/or administering access for external users.
