POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Annual Giving develops and executes the annual giving program for the University of
Oklahoma Health Campus academic colleges and centers. This includes, but is not limited to, direct mail, e-solicitations, social media and
the annual Giving Day fundraising initiative, as well as other special campaigns related to annual giving. This person will report to the
Senior Director of Annual Giving with a dotted line to the campus Assistant Vice President of Advancement.

This is an in-person
role on the University of Oklahoma Health Campus in Oklahoma City.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic
    plans for annual giving across the nine academic units and centers at the OU Health Campus, in coordination with university-based annual
    giving efforts. Plans should include campus and external events in support of philanthropic efforts.
  • Work dually with the central
    annual giving office and the OU Health Campus academic colleges and centers to implement plans to increase annual support.
  • Oversee
    Annual Giving Project Manager to execute the annual giving plan.
  • Develop and manage a budget for annual giving programs to
    adequately raise funds with an appropriate return on investment.
  • In partnership with units, plan all direct email, mail and phone
    giving campaigns. Duties include working with the graphics team to design packaging and art, determining appropriate segmentation, managing
    data based on unit-specific needs, drafting or editing copy templates, communicating with units and unit leadership to finalize and proof
    all materials, work with vendors to distribute, track and monitor progress to make appropriate segment changes and reporting results to
    units.
  • Evaluate campaigns to ensure that goals are being met and provide reports to units on a regular basis.
  • Produce and
    maintain a yearly production calendar for annual giving regarding these units and in coordination with the Foundation
    calendar.
  • Coordinate the university’s annual Giving Day initiative for the Health Campus’ colleges and centers.
  • Oversee
    stewardship of annual giving donors for assigned units in partnership with the Stewardship team.
  • Track the success of appeals and
    make changes to the program as needed for increased ROI.
  • Assist with campus special campaigns and advancement activities as directed
    by the AVP of Advancement.
  • Assist with sponsorship solicitations for fundraising events.
  • Attend regular Annual Giving Team
    and All Advancement meetings in Norman.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Advanced computer skills; must be
    proficient in Excel.
  • High level of initiative and creativity.
  • Knowledge of media, communication and dissemination
    techniques and methods.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written
    communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to develop and maintain
    constructive working relationships.
  • Ability to obtain information from relevant sources.
  • Ability to work without close
    supervision and make proper independent decisions.
  • Must have current driver’s license.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Ability to
    travel and work flexible hours.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in
    Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or closely related field.
  • 48 to 60 months fundraising, sales, gift planning, public
    relations, communications, or marketing.
  • Some management experience.

Preferences:

  • Previous
    experience in higher education – annual giving, special events, writing and direct mail appeals.
  • 5 years of fundraising experience.
