Job Description
Standardized Patients (SPs) at the Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation (CIPES) at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) in Orange Park, Florida, are integral to the education of future health professionals. Job Duties
- Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to faculty, staff, students, and the community
- Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
- Commit to the education and training of future health professionals
- Accurately and consistently portray specific patient types after training and rehearsal for cases and/or scenarios
- Simulate all aspects of a patient scenario, including history, affect, behavior, and physical findings, in a standardized and reliable manner
- Demonstrate and evaluate interviewing skills with medical students, nursing students, and other learners
- Prepare and study the patient s role for each case or scenario
- Exhibit flexibility and reliability with schedules and assignments
- Interact professionally with learners, faculty, staff, and peers
- Complete checklists and evaluations of student performance accurately and consistently
- Accept and incorporate feedback from the supervisor or trainer to improve case simulations
- Maintain objectivity and confidentiality
- Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for university program advancement
- Perform other duties as assigned
