Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time Lecturer position in the
Automotive Department, beginning August 24, 2026.
Key Responsibilities include:
- An educator who is passionate
about hands-on ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ and committed to student success. - The ideal candidate will bring professional expertise in multiple areas
of automotive service, including (but not limited to): automotive electrical and computer systems; engine performance and internal
combustion engines; brakes, drivelines, and suspension; diesel systems; manual and automatic transmissions; automatic HVAC; and/or service
procedures and shop management. - Teach face-to-face lecture and laboratory courses – with occasional remote instruction on
designated snow days. - Advise, mentor, and support students across a range of academic ability levels.
- Participate in
curriculum development, promote assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Contribute to department, college, and
community service; including committee work and outreach. - Foster a learning environment that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion,
and accessibility. - Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to keep the curriculum aligned with current automotive
technologies and workforce needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in automotive with a minimum
of three years of professional automotive industry experience; or degree equivalent with eight years of professional automotive experience. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or
higher in a related technical discipline. - Prior ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ, training, or instructional experience (college, high school, or
industry-based).
