Enrollment Counselor – Athletics Liaison
The Enrollment Counselor – Athletics Liaison is responsible for recruiting qualified applicants for admission and enrollment to King
University. The enrollment counselor serves as a recruiter and must represent King University to its constituents (students, parents,
guidance counselors, coaches, etc.) in an assigned territory, which will include recruited athletes. The recruiter will generate leads,
present new information, and establish solid rapport with prospective students and athletes. As the Athletics Liaison, the Enrollment
Counselor will partner with King University athletic coaches to keep prospective athletes moving through the enrollment process, keep
coaches apprised of university admissions practices and policies, and collaborate with coaches to meet athletic enrollment goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet yearly enrollment goals as stated by the Associate Vice President of Enrollment
Management. - Represent and promote King University to prospective students and parents, schools officials, King University alumni
and community members. Represent the admission process and policy, financial aid opportunities, academic and athletic programs and campus
activities. Articulate and promote the value of King University to constituents. - General recruiting duties, including, but not
limited to:- Excellent territory management that ensures strong relationships with constituents to effectively recruit
prospect students to enroll. - Attend and represent King University at high schools, college fairs, career fairs, church events and
conventions in designated territory. - Build rapport and maintain effective communication with potential students, parents, and
school and church officials. - Assist in the coordination, set-up, and implementation of all Campus Visit Days and orientations, as
assigned. - Utilize CRM (Element 451) for effective recruitment communication.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of campus
activities, academic programs, and athletic programs. - Maintain communications with appropriate faculty, staff and coaches
regarding the progress of recruitment and regarding issues pertaining to specific departments. - Evaluate all personal contacts made
and think about strategies to improve recruitment. - Assure that current King University literature and application materials reach
all businesses and pertinent institutions as assigned.
- Excellent territory management that ensures strong relationships with constituents to effectively recruit
Athletic enrollment strategy and support:
- Serve as the
primary liaison for Admissions with Athletics. - Collaborate closely with leaders and coaches in the athletic department to support
synergized recruitment strategies. - Use and maintain relevant tracking systems (Element 451, Team Works, etc) for admission and
athletics recruitment. - Demonstrate understanding and leadership in all athletic admissions matters (such as: understanding of
conference regulations, system support, reporting, oversight of admissions practices). - Develop strategic admissions tactics that
support increased student athlete enrollment. - Support athletic-specific visit opportunities as established by the admissions and
athletics departments.
- Maintain a maintenance history of the assigned university-owned vehicle to be sure all servicing is
done in a timely manner.
General Responsibilities:
- Serve as a “mandatory reporter” per the Mandatory
Reporters Policy. This encompasses harassment, discrimination, or assault that occurs on or off campus, involving a King University student
or employee. See the policy on the Portal for specific details. * Use discretion and professionalism in communicating details of the
university operations outside of the office, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and security of all personal and financial student
information. - Compliance with any outside authority and local, state, and federal laws including, but not limited to accrediting
agencies, external auditing, first responders, NCAA, FCC, OSHA, TN OSHA, EPA, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Clery Act, etc., and do any
audit work required for these agencies in a timely fashion. - Follow the policies as set forth in the appropriate employee handbook
and subsequent updates or changes including, but not limited to, travel, professional development, purchasing and reimbursements, etc. - Professional Development and Compliance o Participate in professional organizations and professional development as time and resources
permit and as directed by the supervisor.
- Seek out organizations that might provide insight and a networking resource for
continued professional development. - Note any honor societies, professional certification, or licenses which are applicable to the
position, which are desired but not required. - Comply with national charters and requirements as possible, noting the exceptions
for the file, with your supervisor’s acknowledgement.
- Other occasional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of a proven successful experience in a very competitive sales
environment. - Education: A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal
communication skills - Leadership Skills: Organizational ability, self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Computer Skills:
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. - Level of Independence: High level of ability to work independently and able to
prioritize the work. - Physical Exertion Requirements: Medium Work as defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Schedule Flexibility: Frequent weekend or evening work is required, including extensive travel.
- Driving History: Must qualify to
drive a university vehicle. - Procedures Commitment: The candidate must adhere to any and all King University policies as detailed
for all employees in the Employee Handbook or specifically per any department, such as Admissions, Business Office, Financial Aid, etc. - Christian Commitment: The candidate must have and be able to articulate a personal faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and
