Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Trials Office Trainer is responsible for strengthening the clinical research workforce through training, compliance support, and role readiness preparation. The position ensures that staff entering clinical research roles are equipped to operate effectively within regulatory expectations, institutional policies, and operational standards that support high quality, compliant research across the organization. This role ensures that research staff are fully operational, compliant, and prepared to contribute to high quality clinical research from day one. It serves as a critical bridge between research compliance, clinical operations, and workforce development, reinforcing excellence and integrity across the research enterprise.

Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined
- Assist in planning, scheduling and coordinating onboarding for CTO staff.
- Participate as a member of the new hire onboarding team.
- Assist in developing program materials and updates as needed. Will train others to deliver training.
- Assist in updating and creating position-specific training to include guides, workbooks, checklists, and other support materials.
- Participate in the presentation of various lectures/skills practices in order to meet the facilities clinical educational and regulatory requirements.
- Plan for and help facilitate training effectively utilizing a variety of training delivery mechanisms including traditional instructor-led classrooms, co-facilitation, workshops, and virtual classes or webinars.
- Collaborate with CTO team members to assist with developing training plans.
- Research best practices for implementing training.
- Explore learning styles and be able to accommodate training based on the users learning style.
Work Environment
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months. Incumbent will work remotely and on campus based on a set departmental schedule based on management approval and must reside in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
- Six years of relevant work experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Experience in clinical healthcare setting.
- Experience with medical terminology and investigative scientific methods.
Education: Bachelor's degree

Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance and includes health expense accounts with generous employer contributions if the employee participates in a qualifying health plan. Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
