Job Description

The Director of Strength and Conditioning is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for the Department of Athletics and its student-athletes.

Required Qualifications

*Bachelors degree in related field; *Credentialing from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA); *CPR/First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications

*Excellent organizational and management skills; *Strong oral and written communication skills; *Flexible schedule; *Thorough knowledge of strength and conditioning programs; *Well-rounded knowledge of a wide variety of sports.

Job Duties
  • Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
  • Develop, implement and supervise the strength and conditioning programs for each sport program at the University;
  • Participate in efforts to collect, analyze and report data for the athletic department in the University s planning, assessment, and evaluation processes for institutional effectiveness;
  • Assist in the production of outcomes-assessment and long range planning for the athletic department;
  • Maintain an inventory and order equipment and supplies as needed for proper maintenance of the weight room facilities;
  • Maintain the excellent condition of the weight room facilities;
  • Prepare and submit a proposed budget to the Athletic Director;
  • Participate in various fundraising activities for the program and the Department;
  • Adhere to all NCAA and South Atlantic Conference rules;
  • Complete all required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports as necessary for the operation and advancement of the University;
  • Teach up to 6 credit hours of appropriate University and/or JFWA courses, the equivalent thereof;
  • Other assignments and duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
