Job Description

Installation and maintenance of university trees by operating various trucks, utility carts, water tanks, chainsaws, and small power and hands tools. The position performs daily routine maintenance for tools and pre-trip inspections for trucks and equipment. Update tree inventory with tree identification and measurement. Perform tree assessments and manage data for urban forestry analysis.

Required Qualifications

General maintenance skills/knowledge/abilities.
Must be able to walk and stand excessively; climb stairs; safely move or handle up to 50 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach (including reaching above the head to dust), push/pull, perform repetitive motion, and twist.
Must be able to safely and efficiently operate electronically powered and manual equipment.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and vendors.
Excellent customer service and communication skills for interaction with employees, students and visitors.
