SUMMARY:
This individual is responsible for developing a group of student leaders to effectively extend the ministry of Spiritual Formation & Christian Community into the assigned residence hall through spiritual encouragement, social connection, and co-curricular programming. As a member of the Residence Life Professional Staff the individual will participate in addressing student conduct and CARE issues, as well as the ongoing training of Resident Assistants. As a member of the Spiritual Formation & Christian Community team, this individual will contribute to the ongoing initiatives to support a thriving, Christ-centered community. The core of Cornerstone University is defined and driven by its Christ-centered mission and Biblical confession.
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, 20-28 Hours/week, 10-Month, Live-on

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REPORTS TO: Director of Residence Life
DEPT: Spiritual Formation & Christian Community
LOCATION: Assigned Residence Hall & Corum Student Union
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the hiring of Resident Assistants each year.
- Directly advise, disciple, train, and equip the RAs in assigned residence hall.
- Proactively build relationships with students, giving particular emphasis to students in assigned residence hall.
- Engage in redemptive ministry opportunities by addressing conduct issues in the residence hall.
- Serve as the initial point person for residential students in crisis, seeking additional help and assistance as necessary.
- Assist in case management for ongoing "students of concern."
- Participate in the Residence Life "Duty" rotation as an on-call member of the Emergency Response Team.
- Plan and carry out residence hall programming congruent with CU's mission and educational objectives.
- Oversee collaboration of some hall, section events with SFCC Community Life team for greater exposure to CU events, community, culture and mission.
- Participate in regular Residence Life training events and meetings.
- Coordinate the move-in and check-out procedures for the assigned residence hall.
- Participate in new student arrival activities, contributing to a welcoming, inviting campus atmosphere.
- Serve as the building manager for assigned residence hall, collaborating with Campus Services for maintenance requests and facilities management.
- Oversee the residence hall budget.
- Maintain accurate and timely records and reports of interactions with students and residence hall programming.
- All Cornerstone University employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.

- Bachelor's degree required
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to relate effectively with and minister to students
- Proven ability to disciple and mentor students
- Demonstrated understanding of the student experience in higher education
- Commitment to the principles of spiritual formation in higher education
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment.
