Job Title:
Early Childhood Education Faculty
Mesalands Community
College seeks a dedicated, student-focused Early Childhood Education (ECE) Faculty member to teach and support the Early Childhood Education
program. This faculty member will deliver instruction in multiple modalities including in-person, hybrid, online, and community-based or
practicum settings and contribute to curriculum development, student advising, and partnerships with early childhood centers.
The
position supports the College鈥檚 mission to serve a diverse rural student population and prepare learners for careers working with young
children and families in educational and care settings. The faculty member may also teach general education courses, as assigned.
Essential Functions. The employee is responsible for the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach a full-time course load in early childhood education subjects such as child development, curriculum planning,
guidance and discipline, family engagement, and early learning environments. - Deliver instruction in various modalities
(face-to-face, online, hybrid, and field-based/practicum experiences). - Develop and revise course materials to align with learning
outcomes, state standards, and best practices in early childhood education. - Support the development and continuous improvement of
the Early Childhood Education program. - Coordinate and supervise student practicum or field experiences in early childhood
settings. - Maintain regular office hours for student support, mentoring, and advising.
- Participate in College
committees, assessment activities, and shared governance. - Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment that
supports diverse learners and families. - Maintain professional currency in early childhood education practices, regulations, and
pedagogy. - Build and maintain partnerships with local childcare centers, Head Start programs, and schools.
- Participate
in College events, recruitment activities, and program outreach. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Vice President
of Academic Affairs.
Reporting Line
Reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Provides
recommendations on curriculum development, academic assessment, and programmatic needs to the Dean of Instruction and Vice President of
Academics, as appropriate.
Qualifications
Master鈥檚 Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or
a closely related field OR a Master鈥檚 Degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood Education or Child
Development.
Qualifying academic disciplines may include:
- Early Childhood Education
- Child Development
- Elementary Education (with Early Childhood emphasis)
- Family and Consumer Sciences (Early Childhood emphasis)
- Special Education (with early childhood focus)
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of 四虎影视
experience in early childhood education, higher education, or a related field preferred. - Experience working with young children
(birth through age 8) in educational or care settings preferred. - Demonstrated experience supporting diverse populations,
including rural and underserved communities. - Ability to teach effectively across multiple instructional modalities.
- Experience in Bilingual Education preferred.
Duties

Assist in off campus
promotion and recruitment activities as needed.
Attend and participate in all faculty and staff meetings.
Attend and
participate in all employee meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned

Must possess strong
interpersonal skills.
Language skills:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must. Ability to read and
comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability
to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information to individuals and groups from within
Mathematical skills:
Ability to
perform mathematical functions.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Technology
skills:
Computer Competency: Capable of applying and maneuvering within various software packages including but not limited to
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet.

The employee is required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop,
kneel, and lift; and talk and hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low. Job performed indoors.
Travel is required.
