Job Summary/Basic Function:
NOTE: Position will be filled as an Assistant Registrar I or II depending on candidate qualifications.
The Assistant Registrar for Records Management provides strategic direction, program development, and assessment for assigned area and supports Records and Transfer Office daily operations. The Assistant Registrar for Records Management has primary responsibility assessing and certifying student-athletes NCAA eligibility. This role is responsible for enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse, Solomon data requests, and legal requests or subpoenas for academic records in collaboration with the WSU legal team. The Assistant Registrar for Records Management manages initiatives to support the accuracy and confidentiality of student records, including FERPA compliance and identity fraud prevention and response. This role also supports Records Office business processes and procedures in support of daily and end of term operations. This role advises campus stakeholders on records, FERPA, and other related policies. Manages systems maintenance, testing, and enhancements for assigned areas. Completes special projects and IT projects as assigned. Serves on committees as assigned at the division and institutional level. Cross-trains on office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
- One year full time higher education employment in registrar services, admissions, financial aid, student services, enrollment services, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- Two or more years full time experience specifically in records operations and processes, prior learning assessment, and transfer processes.
- Experience working with student information systems, (such as Ellucian Banner).
- Excellent self-management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
