DEPARTMENT: Maintenance and Grounds
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Maintenance and Grounds
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Hourly
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Painter effectively directs the repairing and preparing of walls for paint, mud and tape drywall. This position must be able to make decisions based on the job being performed in an adequate and safe manner. The Painter chooses the materials needed and enforces proper use of equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Determines the appropriate technique to apply according to the job in question.
- Enforces safety on the jobs being performed.
- Repairs dry wall for painting.
- Prepares dry wall for painting.
- Performs plastering, sanding, scraping, and painting.
- Performs all other duties as may be required.
- Must have a valid PA Driver's License
- Experience in plastering, spray and trim painting, sanding, set scaffolding, staining, stenciling, mixing colors and antiquing furniture
- Basic grammar, strong leadership and good communication skills
- Flexibility to work daylight, nights, weekends, overtime, or as needed in addition to working independently
- Ability to lift between 50-80 pounds
- Ability to climb and work at high altitudes
