The Blinn College District is searching for a Part-Time Instructor - English at our Brenham Campus, Bryan, Schulenburg and Waller Campuses.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Teaching part-time, in person ENGL courses on one of the five Blinn campuses or at a dual credit location.
Performing the day-to-day operations of the Humanities Division at the assigned campus.
Principal Accountabilities
Blinn College expects all faculty members to demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence. The essential duties of all faculty are as follows:
Instruction and Classroom Management
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Masters degree with at least 18 graduate hours in English.
Minimum Competencies
Must be able to teach in-person on the Brenham, Bryan, Sealy, or Waller campus, or at a Blinn dual credit instructional sites.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Credentials: The College assigns appropriately credentialed faculty members in support of educational quality and the mission of the College, in keeping with Board policy DBA LOCAL-X (Employment Requirements and Restrictions - Credentials and Records: Credentials). College policy is consistent with sound educational practice and SACSCOC guidelines. Primary consideration is given to the highest degree earned in discipline. Furthermore, Blinn College's Faculty Credentialing Guidelines table specifies recommended credentials for each rubric within the college's course inventory.
2. The application form will serve as the primary basis for the search committee to analyze your application. It is to the candidate's advantage to clearly fill out all fields and answer all questions thoroughly.
3. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
4. Applicants should submit:
a. Letter of interest/cover letter
b. Current CV/resume
c. Teaching Philosophy
d. Transcripts of all post-secondary academic work
e. A list of three professional references with contact information (including email and phone number).

- Teach ENGL courses following approved curriculum and college standards.
- Maintain access to students through office hours and electronic communication.
- Prepare, maintain and utilize an accurate course syllabus in Concourse and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
- Utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media and educational resources.
- Monitor student progress, participation, attendance, and maintain accurate records per Blinn College requirements.
- Conduct classes and final exams punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule.
- Advise or refer students to available academic support, advising, and counseling services.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with students.
- Hold sole responsibility to assess students' performances through a range of formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development opportunities and effective 四虎影视 methodologies.
- Engage in collegial activities in a professional manner across the department, college, and communities.
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions.
- Comply with all college policies and procedures.
- Exhibit effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Attend college orientation, required institutional meetings, and trainings.
